Elaine Hayes, an FEI competitor and a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist, is in charge of our lesson and training programs. She has been a professional dressage trainer and instructor for over 20 years and has ridden horses all her life.
Her early career included everything from Western riding to Eventing, where she competed up to the Preliminary level and won several year-end awards. More recently Elaine has trained and competed successfully through Intermediate 1 dressage, earning her Silver Medal her first time out at PSG. She has won numerous USDF year-end awards on several different horses as well as placed in several Regional Championships. Elaine was Region 1 Second level Reserve Champion on Weltgraf and has placed highly in all of her FEI tests with Largo, never scoring below 60%. Her students have begun to make their mark in the show ring as well, with Wendy Taylor winning the Region 3 First Level Adult Amateur Championship in 2004 with an impressive 68% Most recently, Elaine has received many top placings as well as high standings in the USDF HOY awards with her own horse Wrendevouz, that she got out of the breeders pasture at age 8, and has done all the training on, showing through Grand Prix with scores consistently in the 60's, even though they just started competing at the top level! Elaine prides herself on taking ordinary horses and making them competitive even at the highest levels. There is no horse or breed that she believes can't be improved with correct dressage training and proper horsemanship skills. Elaine has worked with multiple national trainers and international trainers such as Chris Hickey, Carole Grant, Stacey Hastings, Michael Poulin, Jessica Raneshousen, Bodo Hangen, Bo Jena, Catherine Haddad-Staller, Oded Shimoni, Patrick Tigchelaar, and Michael Barisone.
