Very quiet, calm, and very sweet. Lofty mover. Great horse for adult amateur who wants fancy but safe. Windfall clips, loads, trail rides, stands for the farrier, etc. No vices and not at all mareish. Super reliable. Has shown training and first levels with scores consistently in the mid-60s. Windfall seeks a new partner to teach as her current owner no longer rides dressage. Good home a must. $25,000. Contact: elaine_hayes@lkndressage.com

Congratulations to Sary Croshaw of Mooresville, NC on her purchase of Eli. He could not have found a better-matched partner and he is assured of his last owner's last wish--a great and loving home for Eli. Special thanks to Judy Alexander for going above and beyond for this horse, in memory of her daughter, Jennifer. Jennifer may now rest in peace with her beloved Eli safe and happy here at Lake Norman Dressage. We are sure she is smiling down on him and Sary with full approval.....a wonderful, happy ending!

  Eli

Schooling first and second level. Very sweet & quiet but sensitive. Eli is easy to ride and sit and is very light to the aids. Does best with a quiet rider. Eli is sound, safe, and has no vices. Owner has passed away so he must sell quickly to good home only.

Everyone at Lake Norman Dressage congratulates McKenzie's new owner Jill Kolakowski of Mooresville, NC! We are so glad that Jill found McKenzie and think they make a great pair and we wish them all the best!

McKenzie is very sweet and affectionate and loves people. Very safe and quiet for an amateur on a budget that wants a nice mover that is sensible and will be competitive at shows. She very straight forward to ride and sit. She has also done some small hunter shows in the past and loves to jump. She would make an excellent event prospect as well. A very easy keeper, she loads, clips, and stands for the farrier too. Great on trails. McKenzie is currently training level schooling first. She leg yields and has begun trot and canter lengthenings. Approved home only.

Update on Gem, sold by LKN Dressage in 2004
Gem We love to hear from our happy owners. We just heard from Jennifer Knight in New Mexico who bought Gem in 2004. She reports that Gem has competed at 2nd and 3rd levels this year and is currently ranked 9th nationally in the all-breeds awards open division for third level. We wish Jennifer and her trainer, Missy Gilliland, all the best and look forward to hearing how Gem does next year at Prix St. Georges.

Jennifer writes:

Hello Elaine!

How have things been going for you for the last couple of years? I hope all is well there in North Carolina! I know I haven’t been in touch since buying Gem about 2 ½ years ago. But I am so proud of her and just wanted you give you an update on what a wonderful year she has been having! First of all, after I bought her we gave her a little time to settle in and get to know eachother and then I had my trainer, Missy Gilliland, start showing her about six months later. I wanted Gem to have lots of show miles before I started showing her myself, since Gem was young and inexperienced, like me! She was a little excited at shows for a while but did very well. She went right through training and first level that year. She won the first level state championships also and competed at the regionals in New Mexico that year. This past year she showed second and third level. She qualified for and competed at the regionals this year in Colorado at second and third level and won third place at both levels. She is currently ranked in 9th place nationally for the all-breed awards at third level in the open division! It is so exciting!! We have our state championships coming up this weekend where Gem will compete for the last time at second and third levels. Then she will show at fourth level and Prix St. Georges starting in January. She has already competed at fourth level once. Her first time out at fourth level she won her class with a 66.744%! She is such a beautiful mover! (Since she started showing, she has almost always won first or second place in every class she’s entered!) She still has a total diva personality and stands like a flamingo whenever she asks for a treat, or to say ‘thanks’ after she gets one. She knows her job and is totally serious and down to work at the shows and she’s a total show off! I have to admit she is pretty spoiled and thinks the world revolves around her!

Well, I just wanted to let you know how Gem has been doing. As I watched her at regionals, I thought about how much she’s accomplished in such a short time. I was thinking that I was so lucky to have found her. She is such a sweet horse and has the best personality. Thank you so much for the opportunity to buy such a great horse! I’ll keep you posted every now and then with how she’s doing. I’ll also let you know how she does at the state championships this weekend (I’ll include a couple of photos then too)! I hope things are going well for you and everyone in your barn too!

Warm regards,
Jennifer Knight

"Binky," is a sound, friendly, solid citizen that has shown through PSG. He does all the I-1 movements and some piaffe and passage. Anyone can ride him and he has been used in lessons with beginners. Absolutely bombproof. Very little maintenance required. Does it all in the snaffle, with easy tempi changes and solid lateral work. Owner in college with no time forces sale. A rare find!! Want your Silver Medal or a new Young Riders horse? Binky is your ticket!! No vices, trail rides, clips, loads, etc like a pro.

Koncertina
Congratulations to Kathryn and Danielle Smith of Raleigh, NC!!!
  Koncertina
2000 16.2 H Black Bay Trakehner Mare. Stunning mover, FEI dressage bloodlines on both dam and stallion lines. Very easy and light to ride, not mareish, huge gaits but easy to sit. Koncertina has a beautiful head and a personality to match! Quiet enough for amateur, but quality enough to be a professionals next upper level horse! Was a dream at her first big show--like an old pro! Has shown up to First level Test 4 with scores up to 68.4 %. She is currently schooling Second, but ability has the ability to go all the way! Price will go up with more training.
